Remember the 90’s and early 2000’s when all we did was try to get rid of the oil on our faces?
Surprise! Another flawed trend, and thankfully it’s not coming back anytime soon.
Learning from our mistakes: Cleansing with oils instead of stripping them.Winter weather is very drying to the skin and can actually lead to excess oil production as your skin tries to overcompensate for the lost moisture. Oil cleansing may be an alternative cleansing method during the winter to take your skin out of oil-production-overdrive. Some water-based cleansers tend to contain surfactants that strip your face of the oils it needs.
During your Oil Cleansing Method discovery journey, focus on oils that are low on the comedogenic (blocking pores) scale and avoid essential oils as much as possible. Not all oils work for everyone, but we’re going to focus on one oil that is found in not just your beauty products but also in your brunch food, birthday cake (google it) and now in your skin products -- avocado oil.
