Describe your skin: Combination but dryer than the Sahara in the winter with occasional stress/dietary breakouts. My skin is also a little sensitive and I have allergic reactions to some products (tend to avoid Kiehl's products, Neutrogena and anything with grapefruit or citrus-based products).
What are your short term and long term skin goals? Short term goals are to reduce my breakouts and puffiness underneath my eyes because my next month my sleep schedule will be all over the place. Long-term goals are to make my dark circles less noticeable, even the tone of my skin and fix any acne scarring.
Biggest concern: Managing the breakouts right below my cheekbones while also keeping my skin hydrated and toned.
It’s great that you’ve already come to recognize the certain ingredients and brands that don’t work for you. So many people continue using products that aren’t right for their skin and blame issues on external factors, so kudos to you!
If dry skin is an issue at the moment (winter came for us all) as well as acne, you may want to reconsider the Nuxe oil. It contains limonene and citronellol, both of which are essential oils, and can further aggravate the skin. Consider switching to a hydrating and non-comedogenic oil like jojoba oil or rosehip seed oil.
For decreasing puffiness and dark circles, in the morning, you can use a cold jade roller paired with an eye serum that has caffeine. The Ordinary has a good one, or you can go for a 2-in-1 with this serum from First Aid Beauty that has a built-in roller.
Additional Products: -Caudalie Instant Detox Mask: I use this about 1-2x a week to pull out any dirt from the skin and tighten pores. I wear this for 5-10 minutes after washing my face at night, followed by my normal routine. -The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: I use this 2x a week after cleansing, leave on for 5-10 minutes to exfoliate the skin. I always follow with a moisturizing mask. -Caudalie Moisturizing Mask: I use this 2x a week and wear it overnight following The Ordinary Peeling Solution. -Mario Badescu Aloe Facial Spray: I use sporadically during the day to hydrate my face.
Honestly, good job keeping a mist on you. During the winter the outdoors are not kind and being inside isn’t safe either. The transition from cold wind to dry radiator heat can really take a toll on moisture. Spritzing every once and a while can help keep moisture in!
