What are your short-term and long-term skin goals?
Short term: Get my skin tested so I can find the absolute perfect products for my skin that will help reduce redness and irritation
Long term: Minimize pores and even out my skin tone so the glow can just POP
Biggest concern: Redness and irritation
I massage Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser into my skin in circular, upward motions and let it sit for a minute so it can really sink in before I wash it off with warm water. I like this cleanser because it doesn’t foam up on the face and strip it of all its oils. I’m not dry and stiff after. I pour some Thayers Witch Hazel Toner onto a cotton pad and go in circular motions around my face to make sure I really got in all my pores and cleaned them out.
While I also love the smell of roses, leave the witch hazel out of it. Witch hazel is a skincare ingredient that can, possibly and temporarily, minimize pore size and oil production. Over the long term, it will sensitize and dry up the skin.
I apply E.L.F. Hydrating Water Essence with either a cotton pad and pat it into the skin from the center bringing it out, or by rubbing it in my hands and patting into the skin in quick but gentle upward motions. It’s great for a little extra moisture. Mario Badescu Lip Balm is the smoothest and most moisturizing lip balm other than Pat McGrath Lip Fetish, but I’m running low on that so I gotta savor it. I finish with my favorite product: Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich. I only need the tiniest bit so I put smaller than a pea-sized amount on my forehead and both cheeks and then I just massage it into the skin to leave me so glowy all day. I started using this product last week and it’s probably my favorite of all time.
I go in with Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser again because it’s great to go to bed with oils and not sleep through the night dry-faced. I love how it doesn’t strip my skin. I clean the skin again with Thayers. The rose petal smell is so soothing. Afterward, I apply Glossier Solution with a cotton pad and work it in circular motions around my face, avoiding my eye area because it is a heavy duty chemical exfoliant. I have noticed a big difference in my complexion and my skin tone is evener. I only apply this at night because it can leave my skin a little sensitive if used too much, but it’s great for acne-prone skin and smoothening out the texture. I apply Glossier Super Glow Serum before bed because it brightens the skin.
We love skincare acids, but we also need to know when our skincare works. Unfortunately, the combination of AHA/BHA and Vitamin C does not work in the skin’s favor. Both are acids and will destabilize each other. For best effects, we recommend keeping the Glow Serum to the morning and the Solution to bed.
I usually apply my serums at the same time by squeezing a drop of each into my hands. I rub my hands together to warm up the product and then press and massage it into the skin. I go to bed looking like a glazed donut and that makes my skin a little more prone to the sun so I tend not to use serums in the morning. I mix Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum with the Glossier Super Glow Serum just to speed the process up a little bit and I’ve noticed it helps my skin look pure and even throughout the day. E.L.F. Hydrating Water Essence gives me a little extra moisture and hydration before bed. I squeeze Cailyn Cocoon Lip Cleanser on my pinky and rub it into my lips. It exfoliates gently and feels nice. I follow up with Mario Badescu Lip Balm because my lips can’t be dry before bed either. I use my ring fingers to apply the littlest bit of Forever Flawless “Diamond Infused” Eye Serum under each eye so I don’t wake up looking crazy. You gotta moisturize before bed! My last step is, of course, Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich once again.
